Allamah Muqbil bin Hadee was asked:

Do you agree with Shaykh Rabee with regards to his writings in the field of Jarh wa Ta’deel and with his manhaj that he is traversing upon or do you disagree with him? Do you know if Shaykh bin baz,Ibn Uthaymeen and Al-Albani agreed with him?

Answer:  ”Ahlul Sunnah’s source which they derive(their knowledge) from is one (and the same).That is The book of Allaah and the Sunnah of his messenger صل الله عليه وسلم.Their aqeedah is one (and the same) their methodology is one (and the same) in all Islamic countries.Yes! we agree on criticising the people of Bidah and the Hizbis we agree on this, what remains ( is the ruling on) people, with a specific individuals.

In the view of some individuals, these people are worthy of being criticised and with others these individuals are not viewed worthy of being criticised, and this happened in the time of the salaf. So maybe Ahmed bin Hanbal said about a narrator “he is trustworthy” and Yahya bin Ma’een said about him: “He is a liar” and vice versa and the same with Bukhari, Abu Zuhra and Abu Hatim.

What is important they never blind followed each other. So if we differ on the ruling of an individual whether he is trustworthy or he is to be criticised, this doesn’t mean we differ in aqeedah and it does not mean we differ in methodology.

As for whether Shaykh bin Baz or Shaykh al-Albani agreed with him or differed with him, concerning this issue I have not read a lot of the books of Shaykh Rabee, this is one issue. Also another issue as I have said is that Ahlul Sunnah do not blind follow each other. Every one of us gets things correct and we make mistakes. Allahu musta’aan.
